Love for Cooking

I love to browse online for new recipes to try out. I came across Great American Seafood Cookoff and was thrilled to find exciting recipes from their “Cookoff” which was participated in by talented chefs from around the nation.

I particularly liked Shrimp and Andouille Cassoulet from Chef Brian Landry of Louisiana. My husband and I just love shrimps and we even have this wet market which we go to just to buy fresh ones. It doesn’t come cheap but of course, we indulge once in a while. You can head over to the website to view the recipe

Looking at the recipe, it is pretty straightforward and easy to follow. And I just love the inclusion of fresh herbs and the use of vegetables too. It’s an all-in-one dish I would love to try out next time I get the chance. Maybe I could make a spicy version since I love dishes with that chili kick! My husband doesn’t like chili though, so I’m thinking I would need to create two separate dishes just to satisfy our taste buds.

It is good to use domestic seafoods in dishes since it has a great taste and you can be sure that it is fresh. This will add that oomph to your recipe as it further enhances the taste. So I suggest that when you buy seafoods, it is best to be consumed on the same day. My husband likes to eat fresh seafood so maybe we can head off to the market one of these days so we can try out this recipe. I’m already excited!

You can head over to Great American Seafood Cookoff and check out the other recipes from the chefs who entered with their recipes. There are a lot to choose from and you could even join the contest. Who knows, this might be your chance to win the Trip to New Orleans prize package!
